Venue #34 – Kathy Hutton (Peacock Committee)

The wonderful and immensely talented Kathy Hutton has been with the Peacock Arts Trail from the start and this year we were lucky enough to enlist her to the Committee. Not only is she a brilliant printmaker, she is also a dab hand at social media and wrote the social media guides on our Artist Resources page. Oh, and she makes amazing cake! A definite must visit venue!

Kathy, “trained in textile design and worked as a designer, product developer and buyer before moving to Wiltshire. Now I’m able to work as a printmaker creating my own original art pieces and teaching botanical print workshops from my home studio, where I live with my husband and our three young girls”.

She is influenced by a love of ceramics and seasonal botanicals and mixes freehand printed line-work with splashes of screen-printed colour. “Bold silhouettes acquire their own character when combined with the spontaneous nature of mono-print”.

Kathy says, “my studio is lovely; it’s light, airy and has windows on three sides overlooking my garden and the fields beyond. My work and inspiration is up on my walls and it’s a constantly changing backdrop, depending on what project I’m working on or which workshops I’m teaching”.
