Community Projects

The Peacock Arts Trail aims to improve accessibility to art within our local communities.

Previous trails have included working with Corsham's older residents as well as Corsham Youth Zone to improve inclusivity for all ages. We also always run out popular Corsham nursery and schools competition, which is exhibited in Corsham Town Hall for the duration of the trail.

Community Project 2025

Improving Access to the Arts for our Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND) Community

In a collaboration with Peacock Arts Trail and Corsham Town Council, adults and young people with SEND have been working with local artists, Jess Way, Claire Houghton, Laura Richards and Libby Mornement. Drawing on strengths and creativity, the art activities aimed to focus on the themes of shape and colour in a sensory experience. We have really valued working in a collaborative way and fostering strong links in our community. Groups from the Corsham School, Silverwood School, The Riverbank Centre and Wiltshire Inclusive Play have created some amazing thought-provoking art.

Thanks to Corsham Area Board and Corsham Town Council for funding and support. Also to the artists, who were inspired by our invitation to work with these groups.

The art activities will be running over the summer and the results will be displayed at Corsham Town Hall, venue 1 for the duration of the trail.

Youth Art Competition 2025

This years Youth Art Competition, kindly organised by Corsham Town Council, has the theme 'Shape'. With all entries to be viewed in the Town Hall for the duration of the art trail. The competition includes our nursery-aged children and groups within our community so that the widest exhibition of the town’s activities and interests might be represented.

The brief was as follows:

  • The shape of the work the Town Council undertakes has evolved considerably as it celebrates 25 years since its inception as a Town Council, although it is also 130 years since the Town Hall’s presence in the town began.

  • The shape that the world is in relating to environmental concerns is another consideration. Thought could be given to the young people shaping their world to be a more environmentally responsible one.

  • The physical shape that the artwork presents itself in, in that it could be sensory friendly, tactile, and accessible in its dimensions, materials, or inclusivity.

The children's artwork will be displayed at Corsham Town Hall, venue 1 for the duration of the trail.
