Venue #26 Grey Clouds and Silver Linings

From Gastard, the Trail starts to move away from Corsham and onwards towards Whitley, Melksham and further afield. It’s not far from Gastard to Whitley where Marianne Donohoe aka Grey Clouds and Silver Linings, will be exhibiting her beautiful silver jewellery.

Marianne started using silver clay about six years ago as she wanted to make charms after her dog passed away quite suddenly.  Marianne fell in love with the medium so much she wanted to share it with everyone so then started teaching beginners workshops and have progressed from there. Marianne wanted to show people how easy it is to use silver clay and how fun and satisfying it is to be able to make your own jewellery. She says, “it is a very environmentally friendly medium as it uses recycled silver and I feel that is important in today’s world.  I would like to do more workshops and find different venues in which to hold them”.

Marianne is inspired by seeing her students faces when they polish their silver jewellery and they realise what they have achieved. Marianne describes her creative practice as a great way of relieving stress and building confidence.

Marianne will be running a Silver Clay Taster Workshop during the Trail. Please contact Marianne directly to book your place.
