Maker Spotlight - Chloe Yandell

Maker Spotlights: each day we will be focusing on individual exhibitors, exploring their work and finding out what makes them tick...

Chloe grew up in a house surrounded by art, both by her parents and the work of other artists.

From a young age she would watch her Dad draw and paint, picking up skills along the way, and was always drawing and painting both observational and imaginary pieces.

From her first tin of watercolour pencils, Chloe was hooked. She studied art throughout her education gaining a first class degree in Conceptual Fine Art, although she also explored sculpture, instalation and photography. She later studied for a PGCE in Secondary Art and Design then, after a short while teaching, chose to raise a family. Now as Chloe’s children have got a bit older, she has been re-visiting her exploration in painting and all things creative.

Chloe’s recent studies have focused on creating texture and atmosphere and often her techniques and pieces evolve through the exploration of the creative journey. Her inspiration for her work comes from, “the world around us and everything in it, local environment, memories, thoughts, feelings, people, fellow artists, family.”
