Peacock Arts Trail 2017!

Peacock Arts Trail 2017 gets ready for take off!

Corsham’s  ‘Peacock Arts Trail’ will be unfurling its tail feathers again from Saturday 30  September to Sunday 8 October 2017 and is looking for local artists and craftspeople to participate.

The ‘open studios’ event began in 2013 and has been steadily increasing in popularity with  exhibitors and visitors. Fifty-five artists, sculptors and artisans took part in 2015, either in their own studios and homes or in public buildings; the trail is large enough to attract significant footfall but small enough to feel personal and welcoming.

The North Wiltshire market town of Corsham is a visitor attraction in its own right and its beautiful streets have regularly appeared in the T.V. series Poldark. Corsham and the surrounding, equally charming, villages are easily accessed by the M4.

Organiser Leonora Martin said, “Each year we are blown away by the quality and diversity of work displayed by local artists; both amateur and professional. Feedback from previous exhibitors says that they have definitely benefitted from joining us.

Participants have a good deal of flexibility regarding opening times, our only stipulation is that, at weekends, displays should be open from 10am to 5pm. We are looking forward to seeing previous exhibitors take part in the trail again and welcoming new people. We are very happy to talk to artists about their ideas, help artists from outside the immediate area to find a venue and to answer any questions. It should be a great event!”

Fees to take part in the Peacock Arts Trail are a reasonable £70 for individuals (including those at a shared venue), £70 for a non-selling group and £140 for a business. Registration takes place from 15 January to 30 April 2017. For more information see www.peacockartstrail.co.uk or email peacockartstrail@gmail.com
