It’s True It’s True It’s True recreates the 1612 trial of Agostino Tassi for the rape of his students Artemisia Gentileschi, who went on to become one of the most powerful artists of the 17th Century, famed for her depictions of strong women’s triumphs over men.
This extraordinary show blends myth, history and contemporary commentary to tell the story of one woman who took revenge in her art, and ultimately questions how much has really changed in the past four centuries.
