Artist Statement:

I paint in oils on board. Oils smell good, they feel good and I like the way I can use a very traditional medium to make vivid, modern paintings. My paintings are colourful and sometimes textured. They reflect my love of design, pattern and repetition. The natural world provides most of my subjects - plants, fruit, fish and insects - but I sometimes go off on an abstract tangent. I am much more Art Deco than I am Art Nouveau. My paintings range from 30x40cm to 80x60cm. I am currently working on a series of local landscapes and I am getting into Wiltshire skies.
